Never Say Yes to the First Offer

Have you ever said yes to something only to be sorry you didn’t challenge the offer?

Never say yes to the first offer as a general rule. The first offer is simply that, an offer. If you say yes you may have left something on the table that you could have gotten as part of your deal.

For example let’s take a salary offer for a job. They make you an offer. You take it but then find out you could have asked for more either in benefits or salary. They almost always offer at the low end. Remember it’s an offer. You can either accept it, reject it or make a counter offer. You don’t have to say yes.
