Negotiation is a lot like a chess game.  Chess is a game of strategy, negotiation is also a game of strategy.  With chess there is a winner and a loser but with negotiation we should strive for a win-win.  Win-win means that both sides walk away from the negotiation feeling good about the outcome.  We usually won’t get everything we want in a negotiation, that’s why before going in we should have our bottom line in mind.

As I’m getting ready for the upcoming Think Like A Negotiator Live Training, I stopped by the venue yesterday and caught a quick negotiation between a couple of the crew members on one of the roles in the game called Breaking Ground.  Listen in to see what happens.
