Diary of a control freak (not that I’m admitting it here lol…)…letting go of those things that I thought I had to do, one thing at a time so I can do what I’m called to do.
I’ve always rowed my own boat so to speak. I had to in order to survive alcoholic parents and abusive relationships. The idea of letting anything go was terrifying and paralyzing at the same time. For the longest time I thought I always had to do it all. The idea that anyone was there to support me was foreign based on the results in my life from the past.
As my business has started to have accelerated growth, I have had to rely on team to get things done. I have a philosophy to only do what only you can do. That’s easier said than done but if you want to be a success in life, you have to have a team around you. It won’t work any other way.
When I let go of having to do everything at my Think Like A Negotiator Live Training this last time, it flowed so smoothly it was crazy. I wasn’t as wiped out after the event because I focused on facilitating and holding space for the attendees instead of doing that and everything else.
To have success in anything you want to do in life, you need a support system around you that will support your moving toward your goals and dreams. This may take time for you to release the control, but remember as I always say, the power is in the work, you do the work and you will have the power.
