Self-Leadership: Disappointment

Disappointment – it’s part of life. How do you handle disappointment? Having feelings of anger and frustration are normal. It’s OK to process those feelings. You don’t want to stay there though.

In my case there was a situation where someone has disappointed me on more than one occasion. I was hoping they would show up for me but didn’t. This time because it was set up way in advance, doable for them and agreed to, I was looking forward to it for weeks.

Well, they bailed on me again with an excuse that I considered to be just that an excuse. I don’t know why they keep letting me down but I processed the feelings, prayed for them and me and let it go. How do I keep from that happening again? I won’t set myself up with any expectations that they will every show up for me and won’t ask them to be there.

I was angry, hurt and felt a little betrayed. These are normal feelings we all have them. Many people will stuff those feelings and let them fester. That will make you sick. I used to be that person but through doing a lot of work on myself I’m able to share with you how I process my “stuff” and move on.

Why do I share this stuff? To give you an insight into what Self Leadership is really all about. How do you process things that happen to you? Self Leadership is all about First Leading Yourself. The Power is in The Work – You do The Work, you will have The Power to make your dreams come true and live a happy life.
