The Center for Creative Leadership did its Lessons of Experiences research on how leaders best learn, grow and change over the course of their careers. Their results have been called the “70/20/10” rule which suggests that successful leaders through three clusters of experience.
• 70% from experiences such as challenging assignments
• 20% through relationships
• 10% through coursework or training
While this study suggests that only 10% of learning comes from coursework or lecture style training, the majority of training and education is still done in this manner. DVI has taken the 70/20/10 approach and applied it the way we teach and train.
